HVAC Technician Cum Driver (After-Sales Service)

Reports To:

  • Service Supervisor
  • Service Engineer (in the absence of the Service Supervisor)

Job Purpose:
We are looking for an HVAC Technician cum Driver to address customer complaints, troubleshoot unit breakdowns, and provide on-site repairs. You will ensure the completion of tasks under Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), including installations, out-of-warranty services, and preventive maintenance, focusing on efficiency, customer satisfaction, and safety.

Working Relationships:

  • Internal: Manufacturing, Quality Assurance (QA), Design, Local Sales & Service Team
  • External: Individual Clients, Business-to-Business (B2B) Clients

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Maintenance:
    • Install, repair, and provide preventive maintenance (PM) services for HVAC systems, either on-site or at the service center.
    • Perform system modifications or retrofits as needed.
    • Troubleshoot over the phone when required.
  • Emergency Maintenance:
    • Perform emergency repairs in the field, handling HVAC products, split units, RAC units, and tools.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot systems to provide effective solutions.
  • Service Target Achievement:
    • Meet service targets by completing 90% of calls within 48 hours.
    • Ensure re-job/callback rates are kept below 3%.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Complete job-related paperwork such as job cards, delivery notes, and real-time updates in the system.
    • Report any service or quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Financial Management:
    • Ensure timely task execution and accurate invoicing, including issuing quotes and processing cash receipts.
    • Monitor and control service-related costs.
  • Spare Parts Management:
    • Help identify and manage repair parts, ensuring the availability of spare parts in the vehicle.
    • Maintain vehicle inventories of necessary parts.
  • Customer Support & Relations:
    • Provide technical support and resolve customer issues, ensuring customer satisfaction through quality service.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Follow safety procedures at customer locations and office premises.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Professional Development:
    • Keep up-to-date with technical knowledge by attending workshops and training sessions.
    • Participate in training programs to improve both technical and communication skills.
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Operations:
    • Maintain the company vehicle according to the service schedule.
    • Safely transport materials and equipment between sites, depots, and offices.
  • Problem-Solving & Product Solutions:
    • Collaborate with customers to solve problems, investigate product issues, and follow product development instructions.
    • Document and report service issues with photos and data in the system.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Experience: 2-5 years in HVAC or similar technical roles.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, maintenance, and installations.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and handle emergency situations.
    • Strong communication skills for customer interaction and troubleshooting.
    • Proficiency in managing documentation, invoicing, and service reports.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driving license with a clean driving record (preferred, but not required).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel for field calls.
