Role Summary:
This senior position is responsible for managing cost estimation, quantity surveying, and tendering for high-end joinery and interior fit-out projects. You’ll also oversee project operations to ensure delivery meets budget, quality, and timeline goals. The role plays a key part in maintaining project profitability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial & Estimation:
- Lead cost estimation and tender preparation for interior fit-out and joinery projects
- Prepare BOQs, material take-offs, and detailed cost breakdowns from drawings and specifications
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for cost-effective pricing and quality materials
- Monitor project budgets, handle variations, and ensure contract compliance
- Conduct site visits and coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to ensure accurate pricing
Operational Oversight:
- Supervise project execution in line with budget, timeline, and quality standards
- Coordinate with factory and site teams for production schedules and installation
- Implement workflow controls to reduce rework and improve quality
- Manage resources including labor, materials, and equipment
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity and client satisfaction
Leadership & Communication:
- Manage and mentor the estimation and QS team
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and suppliers on commercial and operational matters
- Work closely with senior management to develop pricing strategies and prioritize key projects
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience, including 5+ years in senior roles within fit-out and joinery
- Strong knowledge of interior fit-out materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in estimation tools (CCS, Excel) and ability to read CAD/shop drawings
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and project coordination skills
