Hiring: Senior Procurement Manager – Oil & Gas Industry (Bahrain)

A leading oil and gas contracting company in Manama, Bahrain, is looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to oversee procurement operations, supplier management, and cost optimization.

Job Overview

The Senior Procurement Manager will lead the procurement team and ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of materials, equipment, and services. The role requires strong leadership skills, supplier negotiation expertise, and a strategic mindset to enhance procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Management

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project goals.
  • Analyze market trends, identify risks and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a strong supplier network with a pre-qualification process.
  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to determine procurement needs.

Procurement Operations

  • Oversee the entire procurement process, from sourcing to contract closure.
  • Prepare and evaluate RFQs/RFPs, negotiate contracts, and secure best pricing.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
  • Monitor supplier performance, focusing on quality, cost, and efficiency.
  • Resolve procurement issues and manage supplier disputes effectively.

Contract & Compliance Management

  • Negotiate and manage contracts while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Track contract performance, handle variations, and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Ensure auditing procedures are strictly followed.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
  • Delegate tasks, monitor team performance, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Cost & Risk Management

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.
  • Negotiate optimal pricing and contract terms.
  • Track procurement budgets and cost reductions.
  • Assess and mitigate procurement risks.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Address supplier disputes and explore new reliable vendors.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years in procurement, preferably in the contracting industry.
