Job Opportunity: Head of Department – Housing & Staff Accommodation (Manama, Bahrain)

An established organization in Manama, Bahrain is urgently hiring a Head of Department (HOD) for Housing & Staff Accommodation. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of labor housing management, and experience handling large-scale staff accommodations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Housing & Camp Management

  • Oversee all labor camps and staff accommodations, ensuring proper occupancy planning and tenant management.
  • Supervise company-owned buildings, rent renewals, and housing agreements.
  • Conduct regular safety and hygiene inspections across all housing facilities.
  • Implement efficient housing policies, allocation systems, and compliance standards.

2. Facility Operations & Maintenance

  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules for all buildings.
  • Supervise repairs, cleaning, and emergency maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and technical teams for facility upkeep.

3. Welfare & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with labor welfare laws, health and safety standards, and GCC housing regulations.
  • Lead emergency responses and ensure Civil Defense and municipal approvals are maintained.
  • Promote worker welfare and improved living conditions in camps.

4. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead a team of supervisors, camp bosses, and housing staff.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and enforce company policies.
  • Build a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability within the department.

5. Administration & Coordination

  • Maintain housing-related records, reports, and documentation.
  • Liaise with government authorities for permits and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners for accommodation services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in staff housing management, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of GCC labor housing laws, safety standards, and welfare policies.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and facility management software.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, Telugu, or Nepali is an advantage.
